Our Story

NAVA Real Estate Development (NAVA) is a Colorado-based real estate investment and development firm founded by Trevor Hines and Brian Levitt to develop architecturally-significant communities in prime locations that are sensitive to the environment and building occupants. The firm is positioned as a classic and opportunistic development entity, seeking to identify and execute attractive development opportunities, building the best quality project at the lowest cost, in the shortest amount of time and with the lowest risk exposure. The NAVA team’s 50 years of combined real estate experience developing mixed-use, large-format, Certified properties enables us to create communities that align with our economic and social goals. The name NAVA is a Hebrew word meaning “beautiful”, which captures our passion for architecture and “placemaking” as a means to achieving long-term economic success.

Agile and innovative, NAVA is constantly in touch with our relationship to real estate investment fundamentals. We look for land that is under-appreciated, uses that have a secular tail-wind and irreplaceable locations that offer strong upsides and returns. NAVA works to maintain a defensive position, avoiding fads to the point of being contrarian and will not compromise on a second-class location. We utilize the best technology, resources and experts to capitalize and manage our assets and ensure the greatest probability for economic, social and environmental success for our investments and partners.

NAVA operates with an unwavering commitment to three goals for each of our development endeavors: 1) projects that will improve the quality of the surrounding community, 2) buildings that will have a positive impact on the residents and 3) an approach that will maintain rigor and discipline throughout the development process to ensure consistent investment returns. NAVA’s team manages the lifecycle for each asset with a detail-oriented, hands-on approach through each phase of acquisition, development, operation and disposition. We strive to set new professional and ethical standards through environmentally-conscious design, extensive underwriting, proven managerial techniques and personalized service catered to the unique requirements of resident and partner.

NAVA’s mission is to provide the highest caliber of real estate development and advisory services. NAVA’s principals come from a lineage of real estate developers and health care professionals, which has enabled us to readily incorporate wellness into our real estate projects and push the envelope in terms of design, engineering and performance. We hope to create communities that are mindful of our environment, and additive to our children's lives.

Product Types

NAVA’s experience includes multi-family and senior residential, commercial retail, office, industrial and mixed-use projects primarily in the Colorado real estate market.

NAVA investments fall into three primary categories:

  • CORE – prime assets within Central Business/Residential District

  • Value Add – adaptive redevelopment/re-use of declining real estate assets

  • Opportunistic – new construction development on irreplaceable sites

NAVA founded RealWell, Inc., a Colorado-based non-profit organization whose mission is to make buildings healthier. Realwell is a “think tank” that unites health care professionals, wellness experts, designers and the public with the real estate community to implement best practices to enhance the benessere of building occupants. Our unique approach seeks to quantify that incorporating health-focused best practices into real estate projects has actual, measurable impact on resident’s wellbeing. Ultimately, Realwell seeks to positively influence the health of the population across the United States. For more information, please visit www.realwell.org.
